Mapping petroleum resin requirements across mining operations, logistics, and infrastructure projects from Antofagasta to Punta Arenas.
Chile stands out as one of South America's most stable and industrially advanced economies. Its geographical diversity dictates highly specialized requirements for raw materials. In the northern region, particularly in the Atacama Desert, the mining industry serves as the backbone of the economy. This demands high-durability coatings, heavy-duty machinery sealants, and dust suppression polymers that can withstand intense UV radiation, low atmospheric humidity, and massive temperature fluctuations.
Concurrently, the expanding infrastructure corridors, including the national highway Route 5 (Pan-American Highway), rely heavily on advanced thermoplastic road markings. These require high-performance, cost-effective C5 and C9 petroleum resins as tackifiers to guarantee visual reflectivity and mechanical integrity over continuous high-tonnage mining logistics traffic.
In Central and Southern Chile, the forestry, horticulture, and marine aquaculture sectors drive massive packaging demands. Adhesives used for cardboard container sealing, cold-storage labels, and sea freight logistics packaging must perform reliably. Tackifiers such as copolymerized hydrocarbon resins provide the necessary bond strength, low-temperature elasticity, and moisture resistance required to ensure Chilean grapes, copper cathodes, and fresh salmon arrive at global ports with structural packaging intact.
Our resins are formulated to maintain high softening points and shear resistance, critical for the intense heat of mining pits and the freezing temperatures of Andean passes.
Aligning with Chile's green regulatory initiatives, our hydrogenated resins guarantee minimal VOC emissions, ideal for indoor wood coatings and cosmetic-grade formulations.
Securing premium-grade raw materials ensures high batch consistency, providing Chilean importers with predictable melting points and resin purity.
Leveraging high-capacity automated production to secure competitive advantage for South American industrial buyers.
The global petroleum resin market faces volatile feedstock supplies due to fluctuating crude oil cracking margins. In this environment, Shandong Boctok Chemical Co. offers a robust and stable supply chain. Investing in key hydrocarbon resin manufacturing bases in Zibo, Fushun, and Nanjing enables us to secure premium C5 and C9 cuts directly from China's petrochemical giants (SINOPEC and PetroChina).
Our state-of-the-art facilities feature fully automated Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), ensuring consistent polymer molecular weights and narrowing glass transition temperature ($T_g$) profiles. This technological edge translates directly to processing stability for our clients: reduced carbonization in hot-melt machines, predictable viscosity profiles, and higher adhesive wet-out efficiency.
Additionally, our recently constructed facility in Shouguang, Shandong Province—backed by a $65 million investment—supports an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of silane coupling agents. This capacity facilitates the integration of silicone and hydrocarbon resin modification technologies, a unique capability that addresses complex industrial requirements across both chemical groups.

Shandong Boctok Chemical Co. was founded in 2012 as a marketing and sales center for Boctok™ domestic and overseas businesses and achieved sales of US$280 million in 2023. The BOCTOK brand specializes in serving the Russian market and global trade hubs, and has recently expanded direct logistical pipelines to key Latin American ports such as Valparaíso, San Antonio, and Iquique.
Boctok has three main product categories. Our core organosilicone business covers twelve series of silane coupling agents and crosslinkers. These include aminosilane, methacrylate silane, epoxy silane, vinyl silane, mercaptosilane, alkyl silane, ethyl silicate, chlorosilane, silane isocyanates, phenyl silane, ureidosilane, and serosilane. Boctok also focuses on silicone oil, silicone resin, and silicone rubber, covering high-hydrogen silicone oil, dimethicone, vinyl silicone oil, polyphenylmethyldimethylsiloxane, phenyl silicone oil, silanol silicone oil and OH polymer, alkoxy silicone oil, methyl MQ resin, vinyl VMQ resin, room-temperature vulcanized methyl silicone rubber, 110 methyl vinyl silicone rubber, and 120 methyl phenyl rubber.
These products are widely used in glass fiber, electronics, wind energy, daily necessities, chemical industry, coatings, adhesives, XLPE electric cables, hot water pipes, oil field drilling, textiles, rubber, and molding, etc. to improve the quality and performance of the applied products.
Boctok's Tier II core business is petroleum resins. We have invested in a key hydrocarbon resin manufacturer in China, operating factories in Zibo, Fushun, and Nanjing. This strategic layout allows us to secure stable raw materials and implement strict quality controls at each plant.
We also serve the agrochemical industry, producing intermediates and raw materials for the production of pesticides, fungicides, insecticides, seed treatments, herbicides, and plant growth regulators.
Exported to North America, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia, South America (specifically Chile and Brazil), the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, and Russia, our chemicals are backed by ISO9001 quality management standards and reliable environmental protection structures.

C5 hydrocarbon resins are aliphatic polymers produced from piperylene cracker streams. They are highly compatible with EVA and natural rubbers, making them ideal for road markings and warm-melt adhesives. C9 resins are aromatic polymers derived from coal tar or heavy cracker fractions. They offer excellent compatibility with epoxy systems, PU, and neoprene rubbers, making them suitable for paints, industrial coatings, and sealants used in northern Chilean mines.
High UV exposure can cause chain scission, yellowing, and cracking in poor-quality resins. Boctok's C5 and copolymerized C5/C9 road marking resins are modified with heat stabilizers and antioxidants. This modification preserves retroreflectivity and structural bonding with glass beads, extending pavement marking lifetimes in high-UV mining corridors and highways.
