Important: Customers should review the latest MSDS and product safety information labels before use.
Individual instructions for safe handling of the product contain information on protective equipment, if necessary, and on special storage conditions required to ensure safety.
Store away from heat and open flames in a cool, dry place.
Keep tightly closed, otherwise it will hydrolyze and form polymers when exposed to moisture.

Application & Performance
Adhesion & crosslinking
This product provides shelf-stable and non-yellowing adhesion, improving the physical properties of adhesive/sealant systems. Used as a crosslinker or adhesion promoter, it improves water resistance and wet adhesion with good shelf-life. Silanes typically exhibit superior performance only in solvent-rich systems due to storage stability issues, which limits their use in acrylic emulsions. This product effectively eliminates this limitation, enabling future silane crosslinking with shelf-stable properties and, in turn, excellent bonding properties.
Dosage Recommendations
This product improves wet and dry adhesion, and adding, for example, 1% (or approximately 0.4% of the dose) significantly improves peel strength without yellowing compared to a non-silane standard. When used as the sole crosslinker, a higher additive may be required, and amounts greater than 2.5% by weight may impact shelf life.
Formulation Stability
The product was specifically designed to improve bonding properties without negatively impacting the shelf stability of adhesives or sealants. Formulations aged for 4 weeks at 500°C exhibit a similar viscosity change compared to a silane-free standard and significantly less than those currently used with silane.
Water-Based Systems
It is used in water-based coatings, such as acrylics and polyurethanes, as an adhesion promoter and crosslinking agent. It improves the adhesion strength, water resistance, and abrasion and scrub resistance of the coating. Compared to BKTK-2301, this product allows for a longer shelf life in water-based resins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
What are the recommended storage conditions for this product?
It should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat and open flames. The container must be kept tightly closed, as exposure to moisture will lead to hydrolysis and the formation of polymers.
Q:
What standard packaging options are available?
The product is packed in plastic drums of 5 kg, 25 kg, and 200 kg. Other customized specifications can also be provided upon request.
Q:
How does this product improve the performance of water-based coatings?
When used as an adhesion promoter and crosslinking agent in acrylics and polyurethanes, it improves wet and dry adhesion strength, water resistance, as well as the abrasion and scrub resistance of the coating.
Q:
What is the recommended dosage for improving peel strength?
Adding approximately 1% of the product (or about 0.4% of the active dose) significantly improves peel strength without causing yellowing. However, adding more than 2.5% by weight may negatively impact the shelf life.
Q:
How does this product compare to BKTK-2301 in water-based resins?
This product is specifically designed to allow for a longer shelf life in water-based resins when compared to BKTK-2301.
Q:
Does this product cause yellowing in adhesive/sealant systems?
No, this product is designed to provide shelf-stable and non-yellowing adhesion, helping to preserve the aesthetic and physical properties of your formulations.
