Application Methods
Used in sealants, adhesives, and coatings to enhance wet and dry adhesion to difficult-to-bond substrates such as glass, metal, and concrete. The methylsilyl moiety of the product condenses with inorganic surfaces, forming strong chemical bonds, while the amine group is covalently bonded to the base resin of the adhesive or sealant.
The secondary amine group of this product gives it high alkalinity and is slightly less reactive than the primary amine group, so it can be used as a sealant for polyurethane.
It is particularly suitable for unprimed, room temperature curing, one-component polyurethane systems which consist of a two-step isocyanate-water reaction and a silane crosslinking reaction.
In the presence of water, the methoxysilyl group hydrolyzes to form a reactive silicone hydroxyl group that can combine with inorganic materials, and the organophilic amino group can react with suitable polymers. Due to the presence of 6 hydrolyzable substituents in a single molecule, BKTK-B1301 is particularly suitable for the formation of highly cross-linked network structures on or between substrates, as well as in organic matrices.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How should this product be safely stored?

A: The product should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat and open flames. It must be kept tightly closed to prevent the polymers from hydrolyzing when exposed to moisture.

Q2: What precautions should be taken before handling the product?

A: Customers must review the latest MSDS and product safety information labels. Individual handling instructions should be followed, including the use of recommended protective equipment and meeting specific storage conditions.

Q3: What are the standard packaging specifications available?

A: Finished products are standardly packed in plastic drums of 5 kg, 25 kg, and 200 kg. Other customized packaging specifications are subject to reservation.

Q4: What substrates does this product help bond to?

A: It is designed to enhance wet and dry adhesion to difficult-to-bond substrates, including glass, metal, and concrete, by forming strong chemical bonds between inorganic surfaces and organic matrices.

Q5: Why is BKTK-B1301 highly effective for cross-linked networks?

A: Due to the presence of 6 hydrolyzable substituents in a single molecule, it is uniquely suited for forming highly cross-linked network structures on or between substrates, as well as in organic matrices.

Q6: What makes this product suitable for polyurethane sealants?

A: The secondary amine group provides high alkalinity and is slightly less reactive than primary amine groups, making it particularly effective for one-component polyurethane systems and sealants.
