Empowering the Nordic Green Transition: High-Performance Organosilicon Coupling Agents for Advanced Elastomers, Heavy Transport, and Wind Energy Applications
As Sweden accelerates its "Fossil-Free Sweden" initiative targeting net-zero carbon emissions by 2045, manufacturing paradigms are shifting. High-performance composite materials require unprecedented interfacial bonding capabilities to minimize energy loss.
Mercaptosulfur silanes (including organofunctional variants like 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane and bis-silane structures) serve as crucial cross-linking bridges. They bond inorganic silica reinforcers to natural or synthetic elastomers. In Sweden’s expanding green tire manufacturing and electric vehicle (EV) supply chain, these organosilicon compounds are essential. They drastically reduce rolling resistance, which translates directly to increased mileage per charge for next-generation electric vehicles.
Beyond automotive applications, Sweden’s massive investments in offshore wind turbines in the Baltic Sea demand highly resilient protection coatings. Incorporating mercaptosulfur silanes into anti-corrosion primers significantly improves the adhesion of epoxy and polyurethane formulations to metal and glass-fiber substrates, offering long-term stability in harsh marine environments.
Shandong Boctok Chemical Co. was founded in 2012 as a marketing and sales center for Boctok™ domestic and overseas businesses and achieved sales of US$280 million in 2023. The BOCTOK brand specializes in serving complex markets with strict technical demands, including Northern Europe, Russia, and the Americas.
Boctok has three main product categories. Our primary core organosilicone portfolio spans twelve series of silane coupling agents and crosslinkers, including aminosilane, methacrylate silane, epoxy silane, vinyl silane, mercaptosilane, alkyl silane, ethyl silicate, chlorosilane, silane isocyanates, phenyl silane, ureidosilane, and serosilane.
To expand our global reach, Boctok recently invested US$65 million to construct a state-of-the-art facility in the Bohai Industrial Park, Shouguang City, Shandong Province. This facility houses 6 automated DCS-controlled production lines with an annual capacity of 30,000 tons, ensuring safety, consistent chemical yields, and reduced ecological impact.
Boctok's Tier II core business is petroleum resins. We have invested in a key hydrocarbon resin manufacturer in China. We currently have three operating hydrocarbon resin factories located in Zibo, Fushun, and Nanjing. Taking advantage of reliable and abundant raw materials from SINOPEC and PetroChina, our advanced production facilities, and our decades of marketing experience, our products are widely used by customers, including many Fortune 500 companies, in both domestic and overseas markets. These products include C9 hydrogenated resins, C5 hydrocarbon resins, C5 modified C9 hydrocarbon resins, C9 hydrocarbon resins, dicyclopentadiene, and methyl cyclopentadiene dimer.
Boctok also focuses on the agrochemical industry, producing critical intermediates and raw materials for the production of pesticides, fungicides, insecticides, seed treatments, herbicides, and plant growth regulators.
