High-performance organosilicon monomers, coupling agents, and functional polymers engineered for global manufacturing demands.
Founded in 2012, Shandong Boctok Chemical Co. was established as the primary global marketing, logistics, and sales gateway for the domestic and overseas business operations of the Boctok™ brand. Supported by advanced chemical synthesis facilities and integration with China’s key petrochemical hubs, Boctok achieved a global sales milestone of US$280 million in 2023.
While the BOCTOK brand is highly recognized for its extensive expertise and specialized operations in the Russian and Eastern European markets, the company has successfully expanded its commercial presence across North America, the European Union, Japan, South Korea, Australia, South America, the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia. We have built reliable partnerships with over 50 Fortune 500 corporations, demonstrating our long-term reliability and chemical safety compliance.
Shandong Boctok Chemical Co. structures its operations across three primary business divisions, with organosilicon materials forming its core engineering domain:
Vinyl silane coupling agents, such as Vinyltriethoxysilane (CAS 78-08-0) and Vinyltriisopropoxysilane (CAS 18023-33-1), are dual-functional molecules that serve as molecular bridges between inorganic substrates (such as glass fibers, silica, and mineral fillers) and organic polymers (such as PE, PP, and EPDM).
The molecular structure contains a highly reactive vinyl group (CH₂=CH-) linked directly to the silicon atom, alongside three hydrolyzable alkoxy groups (methoxy, ethoxy, or isopropoxy). The reaction mechanism proceeds via a two-stage thermodynamic process:
1. Hydrolysis & Inorganic Bonding: In the presence of moisture, the alkoxy groups undergo hydrolysis to form reactive silanol groups (-Si-OH). These silanol intermediates form hydrogen bonds with the hydroxyl (-OH) groups on the surface of mineral fillers (silica, kaolin, or metal hydroxides). Subsequent condensation reactions yield stable covalent siloxane bonds (Si-O-Si) at the interface.
2. Polymer Crosslinking & Free Radical Copolymerization: The vinyl group is ready to copolymerize with olefins under the action of organic peroxides (such as DCP) or radiation. In the manufacturing of silane-crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE), vinyl silanes graft directly onto the PE backbone. Upon exposure to moisture, the grafted alkoxy chains hydrolyze and crosslink into a three-dimensional thermoset structure, providing exceptional thermal deformation resistance, electrical insulation, and chemical stability.

Our hydrocarbon resin operations span three factories located in Zibo, Fushun, and Nanjing, placing manufacturing close to key cracking installations. This guarantees a steady feed of raw materials, such as dicyclopentadiene (DCPD), C5 fractions, and C9 aromatic monomers, even during periods of global supply chain disruptions.
To support growing global demand for high-performance silanes, we invested US$65 million in a new, state-of-the-art facility in Bohai Industrial Park, Shouguang City, Shandong Province. This specialized industrial zone provides dedicated utility infrastructure and meets strict national chemical safety and environmental regulations.
Key features of this plant include:
The silane coupling agent market is shifting toward specialized, high-purity applications, green chemistry, and strict environmental compliance. Shandong Boctok Chemical’s R&D team focuses on three main initiatives:
Developing next-generation silane coupling agents that release non-volatile, eco-friendly byproducts during hydrolysis, replacing traditional methanol-releasing systems to help customers meet strict OSHA and EU VOC regulations.
Upgrading synthesis lines to produce high-purity amino and vinyl silanes with trace metal levels below 1 ppb, suitable for microelectronic encapsulation and glass substrate adhesion in displays.
Developing pre-hydrolyzed oligomeric silanes that offer lower volatility, higher flashpoints, and improved shelf life, simplifying formulation processes for compounders.
