High Elasticity Liquid Silicone Rubber derives its performance properties from its distinct polymer structure. Normal addition-cure (platinum-catalyzed) LSR uses a two-part formulation where vinyl-functional polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) networks crosslink with methyl-hydrogen siloxanes. By adjusting the molecular weight distribution of the vinyl-terminated linear chains and optimizing the crosslink density, engineers can maximize tensile strength, tear resistance, and elongation-at-break.
